A few years ago, we got tired of facing the constant struggle of finding coffee that was both sustainable and tasty. So we decided to create Postroast—a platform for the best independent, local and sustainable speciality coffee roasters to showcase their offering and to reach a wider audience. By building a great e-commerce website and resourcing marketing efforts to grow our audience, we could connect coffee lovers with coffee roasters, minimising their need to spend valuable resources on wasted marketing and ads and allowing them to focus on sourcing and roasting traceable, sustainable and delicious coffee instead.

Three years into this journey, we began to realise the size of the task at hand. Integrating all of the Roasters' different processes and procedures, communicating the unique personality of individual Roasters through the Postroast customer experience, initiating further education and learning activities within the coffee space and doing all of this within the minimal margins that speciality coffee allows became too much for us to tackle with our small team and limited investments.

Around that time, the Postroast founding team and brand design practice, Studio Yoke, began collaborating with individual coffee roasters to design their brand, packaging and websites. We realised at this point that providing a cost-effective solution for roasters to establish purposeful, strategy-fed brands that cut through the noise and engage meaningfully with their customers would be far more impactful than what we were doing through Postroast.

So, with that in mind, we've made the hard decision to close the doors of Postroast, allowing the team at Studio Yoke to devote their time working with brands directly—to help communicate their unique purpose and vision and, together, have a more significant positive impact than we might have individually.

To our loyal customers, thank you for all of your support over the last few years and your continued devotion to doing coffee the better way. We've put together a shortlist below of some of our favourite coffee roasters around the UK, and we'd encourage you to engage with them directly.

To our Partner Roasters—this is not the end. We'd love to help support you in any way we can, and we'll be reaching out to you soon to talk about some of the ways in which we might be able to help moving forward.

And finally, thank you to the wider team who helped run Postroast over the last few years. Our passionate and devoted team is what made it all possible in the first place, and to them, I'll be forever grateful.

In one way, this is the end, but we also feel that it's just the beginning of a new chapter, and we're excited at what the future holds for ourselves and all of the incredible businesses that we'll get to collaborate with moving forward.

Sincerely,

Grant,
Founder of Postroast and Studio Yoke.
